Passengers with certain medical conditions must present their medical records so that these may be evaluated by a LAN doctor, who will verify their ability to travel by air.
The objective of this review is to guarantee that there is no reason, from a medical perspective, that suggests that the passenger should not fly.
All passengers considered medical cases must obtain authorization from the LAN doctor in order to travel. To this end, they must complete and present the MEDIF Medical Information Form.
This document consists of two parts that must be completed:

Once completed, the MEDIF must be turned in at a sales office or the relevant travel agency a minimum of 24 hours ¹ before the flight’s departure in order to be approved by the LAN doctor.
Exception: passengers with casts must only provide MEDIF when the fracture in question is of a joint (ankle, knee or elbow). Other types of casts do not require MEDIF, but must be accounted for with a medical certificate verifying the diagnosis to be presented when boarding.
¹ For stretcher, oxygen or incubator service, contact a sales office or call center for more information regarding the time needed to make the request.
² Stretcher service is available exclusively on domestic flights within Chile and Peru.
